Because, I do try to be tough and smart and likeable and brave and caring and yada, yada, yada. And at that moment, you are very much an insecure, nervous, and vulnerable person. Friends, or family members, even though it should be that we feel safer with them. Maybe I like the fact that I can take the time to pull myself together and get over it before speaking of it to anyone if I do. Get comfortable with myself. Someone who avoids being the one that has to make the call when ordering out, or gets nervous about calling to make appointments at the dentist. At any case, I am trying to teach myself not to take myself so seriously.

And embarrassment is a necessary byproduct of that. And counter-intuitive as it may seem, that feeling of embarrassment almost always means that you are on the right track. You just have to keep moving on past it — after all, all the best stuff is on the other side. At the end of the day, you have two choices in love — one is to accept someone just as they are and the other is to walk away.
